slice of life
When I was out watching TV on a Sunday evening I heard the doorbell ring. Right as I got up too answer it my sister said she would get. Of course I should have known it was the Whitings, (but at that moment I didn’t know my Best Friend Bre was with her them). As I went out to the kitchen to say hi, there I saw my Best Friend in her cowboy hat with a tiara on it, her new fancy belt buckle, her slash that said “Queen Bre”, and of course the flag that said “Cottage Grove Jr. Rodeo Queen.” I was extremely surprised I didn’t know what to say.
As I gave her a hug, she was telling me how she only prepared in 2 weeks!! I couldn’t believe it, it what take me forever to write a speech and everything. This summer as she travels around Oregon for parades and rodeos, ill be right there beside her supporting her.

With the economy not doing so good right now, many people are robbing banks and if there is a sale, many people will sadly fight to the death for things. literally. Which brings me to the Walmart employee who got trampled and died. I think that is just insane that nobody would notice a man laying there on the ground. Hopefully with Obama becoming our president, he will stop this crazy recession.

My most memorable memory of my Grandma Walker was when she took me to High Tea. It was a little shop called “A Fine Time for Tea” in Brentwood, California. My Grandmawas battling cancer at this time and little did I know that this would be our last special time together.
When we arrived, there were antique tables and fine china covered in lace. There was also soft classical music playing in the background. The hostess took us to our table and we placed the lace napkins on our laps. I had no clue what some of the manners where but, my Grandma taught me. As we were given the menu, my Grandma told me about the “Queens Tea” which was full of tiny quiches, small sandwhiches bread and very delicious Tea of course.
I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised and I learned alot. Even though my Grandma and I have had alot of special memories together, im just tremendously glad I got to have this last special memory with her before she passed.

We use technology everyday. We use it for transportation, communication, or just for entertainment. I know that i use my cell phone, laptop, and ipod everyday. My phone and ipod are a part of me that I can’t leave the house without them. Technology keeps changing everyday that I can still remember having a neo pet and a gameboy when I was little. As we keep growing technology will grow with us. You never know, we might have flying cars in a couple of years.
